A mochila is more than an ordinary handbag, it comes with a story. A single bag can take anywhere from 10-20 days to make and is the main source of income for most Wayuu communities. Our main goal is to keep these women having a steady income through their bags and spread their gorgeous artistry with the rest of the world.

WASH YOUR MOCHILA
ARE YOU WASHING YOUR BAGS? 🚨Did you know most of our Wayuu Mochilla bags are 100% machine washable? The CDC recommends that you should be washing and wiping down everything you bring from the outside, in! Think about everywhere you bring your bag and everywhere you set your handbag down... that’s a lot of germs! 🦠
How to wash:
1) Turn inside out and place the tassels inside the bag then wash on a delicate cycle.
2) Hang dry, and that’s it!
Hi Wayuu lovers! We are Marty & Emarie, a grandmother and granddaughter team. We started "Straccio Rico" a little over two years ago because we knew we wanted to give back while pursuing our dream of owning a small business. It has been such an incredible experience to say the least. We want to thank you for your support and allowing us this opportunity to give back to the talented artisans of the Wayuu Tribe.
